HAVE YOU EVER THOUGHT THIS WAY ?

What would I do,  if I were to die tomorrow?

That's the question Steve job would ask himself, before making an important decision or when stuck between two choices.
Shouldn't we too apply the same for ourselves? Who knows when it will be our time to wrap up.
Most people are lost or rather caught up in petty issues like trivial fights in a joint family or dispute over land /property amongst siblings.

Some are constantly cribbing about their health ailments while some are simply exhausted by the daily chores .Some feel burdened to manage the routine expenses.

Everyone is in a hurry , everyone is in a rush, blindly following the crowd or cultures/traditions that their ancestors have been following. Either running behind the future or still dwelling in the past.

So what is wrong with all this?
No one seems to be happy or satisfied. Everyone gets a new chance each morning to make a fresh start and chase their dreams.
Some even manage to reach their goals but are still unsatisfied.

Some are so blindly running behind the rat race that they ultimately stop only when life gives them a jerk.

Suddenly there is a death in the family and everyone slows down. Shocked  and saddened  gradually  somehow they cope and move on to be a part of the vicious cycle.

The intriguing part about life is that you don't know when your expiry is due.
Its high time we prioritize  what we give attention or energy to.
  • What do we need to do, to make the most of the time that we have left with?
  • How do we make our lives more meaningful?
  • How do we make an impact?
  • How do we touch the lives of others?
  • How do we contribute?
  • Where do we come from? What happens after death?
  • What is our purpose in life?
  • What do we need to achieve to feel satisfied?

These are the questions that should be bothering us rather than
  • What will the society say?
  • Will get that promotion?
  • When can I afford a car?
  • Why did he/she hurt me? etc.
After 3 decades of my lives I have started to feel, I know nothing about life.
Before I teach my toddler important lessons of life, I  need to unlearn most of the concepts of life that I have been programmed with. I need to be sure and confident that , what I pass on is authentic.

So many things are yet to be explored.
Need to re prioritize things and act accordingly (the most important and difficult task)
The search needs to start from within, all the the answers lie in there.

After all what the movie "Matrix" conveyed was not all fictional.
We all are trapped and only we can help ourselves to break-free.

  1. Very well written. It has deep meaning. Makes us stop and think where we are heading to in this maddening crowd. Keep up the good work and share it with us.

  3. Yes Alpana,
Unfortunately this is the reality of life /world /society.
Everyone is chasing/doing things to/for just temporary and lucrative kind of satisfaction or achievements only and getting disturbed/depressed/stressed by worrying/thinking about what the society/senior/parents/spouse/co-workers/friends will think/react on/about me rather then doing things/act for their food for own soul.
Everyone is stressed/worried about future only...by thinking like *kal kya hoga*..but they are ignoring like k kal humesha Aaj k swaroop mai he aati hai..
So in short...agar humne agar humare aaj ko achchhe se jee liya ..the way which gives us happiness or desired satisfaction then samajh lijiye k humara kal bhi achchha ho gaya..( because our today was tomorrow of our yesterday )

GRIEF: THE COMPANION YOU NEVER ASKED FOR

I am no expert in mental health, nor am I a therapist, but I’ve gathered a few experiences and learnings that you might relate to, or that might help you heal or feel less alone on this journey. Leading a Dual Life… Enjoying.. giggling with friends/colleagues and suddenly something strikes. You feel numb.. completely broken and lonely even in a crowd… confused.. unable to express.. managing to put up a smile, trying your level best to hide that unknown emotion… wondering which is your true self.. the one who goes about daily.. dressing up, confident.. happily contributing in the workspace.. guiding people.. helping colleagues, feeling content with worklife.. coming home to love.. cooking favourite meals for the loved ones.. spending quality time with them.. having the best time of the day.. spending time with the better half. But slowly as the day unwinds and all the clutter clears. There I meet it again — The GRIEF. That intense emotion that makes you feel completely hollow, ...

I DON'T KNOW

During my very first job in one of the hospitals in Mumbai, I came across this old lady who worked as kitchen staff, but there was something unusual about her. People in the hospital referred to her as weird/crazy and most of them even found her funny. She wasn't really strange in looks particularly, just like many old females in their 60’s she was a thin and short lady with grey hair, wrinkled skin with a cute face rather. In her regular uniform of shirt and dark skirt, she always tied two plats of her grey hair resembling a school girl. Imagine how cute your granny would look in that attire, that’s exactly how she was. The main reason behind people finding her funny was her habit of repeating a   statement “I don't know” during every conversation. When you talk to her she would either start or end her sentence with the line” I Don't know”, as if it was some kind of constant (used in math formulas) that needs to be there in of each her stateme...

Save More Time From Your Busy Schedule. Learn How !!!

My day starts with the alarm ringing multiple times and me snoozing it for 10 more minutes till I convince myself enough, that I'm going to be late again. Then my hustle to complete all the chores with “list of things to do “ running through my head. Sounds relatable?? Life of working women these days is no less than a juggler or a struggler. With the clock ticking faster each minute, somehow she manages the household chores just in time on certain days while some days are late marks. Days when I get late for work, which accounts for 80 %  of the time, I tend to sit back and analyze: Why did I get late in the first place? What went wrong? If I would have got  just 15 more minutes What can I do to avoid such instances further? All of this thought process used to be followed by a resolution of waking up early from the next day. But like they say promises are meant to be broken, resolutions are meant to be postponed endlessly I feel. Conso...
